One of the major methods used to increase calorie output has always been exercise, whether it be a walk with the dog, an aerobics class or a weight session at the gym. Any sort of movement of the body leads to increased energy requirements and help to increase that calorie deficit. Exercise however, has far more to offer weight loss than just the time spent at the gym. Marianne, explains how.
Exercise increases satiety
I can already hear people going, “say what” at this comment! Doesn’t everyone know that exercising makes you hungry!! yes, “but”...
New research form the University of Campinas in Brazil has shown that over time exercising can actually lead to an increased feeling of satiety from food, this in turn leads to decreased food intake and hence weight loss(Ropelle et al). “Fish oil” and “good fats” are marketing buzz words of late, and while much of the research has focussed on their role in supporting cardiovascular and nervous system / brain health, one other benefit that seems to frequently get overlooked is the role they play supporting and enhancing weight loss, and more specifically fat loss. In this article we look at the powerful support fish oil can provide to anyone seeking to lose weight and increase fat burning.
Increase Fat Burning
Just like carbohydrates, fats cannot be used directly by the body. Firstly, as part of our digestive process the body needs to break fats down into triglycerides, the building blocks of fats. Once the fats we eat have been converted to triglycerides the body either stores them or burns them.
Obviously, for weight loss
